Where We Work

In 2011 the Sport and Thought programme was created and launched in response to the growing numbers of adolescent boys expressing severe emotional and behavioural disturbance in society.

The programme has quickly evolved into a London wide programme and runs in the following Boroughs: Brent, Hammersmith and Fulham, Islington, Lambeth and Southwark. Plus, we also work in Northern Ireland.

Current partners include Fit for Sport, Queens Park Rangers Football Club, Arsenal Community, Fulham Football Club Foundation, DWP, and schools across London.

Sport and Thought was the lead programme in the 2012 Laureus Sport for Good Foundation “Sports Scores” report, naming the most influential projects in Europe working with adolescents using sport as a medium to encourage change.

A number of our members are attached to either premier league or football league club academies and these members have seen firsthand the impact of Sport and Thought on their footballing progression. To date not one of our members has been released, and they have spoken of the impact of their learning via the Sport and Thought programme as being influential in their retainment at academy level.
